All deadlines are 11:50 p.m. IST. Check NTA for changes. Exam dates cover the session; your Paper 2A date and shift will be assigned by NTA.

Session 2 is planned for April 2027. NTA will issue a separate notice; its application schedule is tentative.

NTA’s 2027 Information Bulletin says candidates who passed Class XII or equivalent in 2025 or 2026, or are appearing in 2027, may appear; it specifies no age limit for the exam. Examination eligibility and admission eligibility differ: check the subject, marks and other rules of each institution and admission authority.
Paper 2A at a glance
The paper lasts three hours. Negative marking applies to incorrect answers in both mathematics sections. Refer to NTA for the detailed syllabus, marks and accommodations.
How to apply
- Open the official NTA application page and read the current instructions.
- Register and keep your application number and password secure.
- Complete personal and education details; select Paper 2A and exam cities.
- Capture your live photo and upload the required files in the specified formats.
- Review, pay the applicable fee online and save the confirmation page and payment proof.
Prepare your documents
- Recent photograph and signature in JPG/JPEG; a device for a live photograph.
- Class 10 certificate or marksheet in PDF; education details and contact information.
- Where applicable, disability/UDID or physical limitation certificate and non-Indian passport. Check NTA’s current format and size requirements.
Submit only one application. Use the candidate’s or parent/guardian’s accessible email and mobile number. Fees depend on category, centre and papers; processing charges and GST may apply.
Frequently asked questions
Is registration open?
Session 1 applications opened on 24 October 2026 and ordinarily close on 22 November, with a late-fee window through 26 November. Verify current notices before applying.
Is Paper 2A entirely online?
No. Mathematics and Aptitude are computer based; Drawing is on paper.
Can I apply for Session 2?
NTA plans a separate application opportunity for April. Session 1 applicants should use their existing application number as directed by NTA.
Does the exam guarantee admission?
No. Institutions and admission authorities set their own admission requirements and processes.
